Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, and Random Life Stuff.

Out of sheer boredom... And the fact that I'm in the middle of my World Civ class with a LAPTOP and working internet... I thought that I'd just post about my thoughts on some things.

NOTE: Spoiler warning! For both shows.

I hate to say this, but I've been somewhat lukewarm towards this current season. I went into it, wanting to love it like I did the previous seasons (except for 6), but I can't FEEL that love anymore. I still watch it, but it's been replaced on my Tuesday nights by NCIS. (Unfortunate, I know.) Anyway, I've accepted everything that has happened and kinda pitied Rosenthal for having to take up such a convoluted plot line, or rather plot LINES. And I think he's been doing... okay with what he's been given.

But this last episode just PISSED ME OFF. I don't know what it was but.. ugh.
Lorelai and Christopher: Because this is such a big part of the show, this goes first. I like Chris. I think he's definitely grown up during the last few years and I think he's meshing well with Lorelai. But he has a PROBLEM. Just like Gigi. He can't seem to take NO as an answer! He's been bullying Lorelai ever since he "asked" her to marry him and it's been pissing me off. He doesn't seem to get that HEY DUDE, children are a step one has to GRADUALLY reach. And Lorelai doesn't seem ready. It doesn't mean she doesn't love you, stupid.
And yeah, she had something with Luke. They've had something for SEVERAL years and well... Do you really expect those feelings to go *poof* just like that? It doesn't mean she'll just turn around and leave you for frivolous reasons. You're acting stupid and I no like that.
Now Lorelai's back to being all submissive? What's up with that? First of all, she shouldn't have married Chris before she was ready. And damn was she not married. I still don't understand why she'd do something so... serious without her whole heart being in it. It just pisses me off (another thing).

Rory, Logan, Marty, and Lucy: Well, this plot line was just... eh. I understand why Lucy COULD be angry. But I think it was taken a LITTLE too far. After all, a good friend and her BOYFRIEND lied to her flat out. That was a little unfair. (Though that was all Marty's fault and all.) But I think Logan was a bit of an ass. Rory was right that it wasn't the right time, right place. It could've been done so much better and ended with no tears.
"I'm not going to be part of this." Dude. Couldn't you have worded it better too? It sounded like something absolutely terrible was going on, like they were having some sort of affair, which was not the case. I just... Ugh. It spiralled out of control and damn Marty for causing it in the first place. I was heart-broken when I saw Rory leaving Lucy and Olivia's dorm room with tears.

Luke, Anna, and April: Anna, you're such a BITCH.
I'd leave it at that, but I want to add more. I feel so bad for April who's stuck in this terrible position. He can't even fight for partial custody because he wasn't there? It isn't Luke's fault that he wasn't part of her life. It was ANNA'S so why is he getting the blunt of the negatives? I actually like April; she's an interesting character and it's unfortunate that her mother grates on my nerves. I REALLY wonder where they're going with this.
(Also, this wasn't the last episode, but I found it REALLY interesting that when April got sick, Luke called Lorelai without a thought. Have they gotten that close now?)

Luke and Chris's Fight: I'm sorry, but WHAT? That fight was the RANDOMEST shit I had ever seen. I found it hilarious when Luke's just shoving off his jacket and all Chris removes is his SCARF. Again, WHAT?! And damn was Luke whipping his ass. GOOOOOO Luke. (I'm still a huge Luke/Lorelai fan. And he's redeemed himself in my eyes in his relationship with April.)

Lorelai and Emily: Almost forgot about this. Not going to say much, but I have to say that it was the sweetest scene I had ever seen. I think the advice Emily gave her daughter was great and rang true. I'm a little surprised that Emily sat out there, but that's whatever. I think these scenes between mother/daughter are so moving, I do love it.

Spoilers: Because I can't think of anything else... Here's the spoiler I want to talk about.
From Ask Ausiello: Ausiello: Turns out it was just a minor "tweaking." The story plays out the same way, with Luke running errands for Emily and Chris throwing a pity party for himself. But it's my understanding that Lorelai's epiphany will be more gradual. The end result, of course, will be the same: Luke in, Christopher out. Speaking of Episode 13, in a Gilmore first, nearly the entire hour will take place in the hospital. I hear there's some great Lorelai/Emily stuff. It's about damn time.
So.... Yeah. Chris is an idiot. I still don't see how it's going to play out though. How in heck's name is Christopher going to be out? They freaking got married! It's such a wrong view on how this relationship is. If they were going to break the two of them up, THEN GET ENGAGED. Not freaking married. It just pisses me off that they got married. *sighs* And hopefully, Richard's health problem will be all okay. And yay to Lorelai and Emily! I love their scenes...

Posted by [livejournal.com profile] ilacemychucks on [livejournal.com profile] veronica_mars: "According to a reliable source, Logan and Veronica get back together for a short time in the next episode, only to break up again in Episode 12, when Veronica finds out Logan slept with someone she really hates when they were broken up.

The first episode of the new arc, which takes place several weeks after the events of S&E, involves both Veronica and Logan trying to move on... but at the end Logan and Veronica reunite. They are together for a little while but Veronica is insecure, then finds out about the holiday hookup and breaks up with Logan. Logan is really upset and ends up holing up in the Grand for a while and Dick is disgusted with him for his choice in sleeping partners and also because Logan is turning into a recluse.

And the person he sleeps with? Madison Sinclair."

I repeat. I'm sorry, but WHAT?! Wow, are they pulling a Gilmore Girls. This just reminds me of when Rory and Logan had to face this situation. Except, it was during Thanksgiving? But whatever.
I always thought Logan had better taste than this. Madison Sinclair?! EWWWWW. She's slept with Dick, Lamb, and who knows who else? (And while I LOVE both Dick and Lamb, Seriously?) Damn. I hope he was either drugged or drunk out of his mind when it happened, because I will not accept it any other way. I hope that this won't overtake the episodes... Oh, and that Logan'll be back to his snarky self.
Anyway... Not much really.

So... Life stuff huh? Um.... Waiting for class to end. 15 minutes or so left. Just realized I don't have much to talk about. Ooooh, but I do have one question. How does one go about making a WISH list for Christmas? My friends and I are planning on making them in order to make it easier for us to give each other gifts... But I can't seem to think of what to PUT on it. So far, I've written THREE different books. *coughs* Kinda sad, but what can I say? Anyway, I'ma go because I'm going to end up just rambling, and I do that enough.
