[#40] You Know It's Been Too Long...

...When you forget just how to post. lol As lame as that frigging sounds. Oh god.

i. Went out both days this weekend and got dead tired both days. >.> Wow to my stamina.
Saturday:
- Went to the movies with C and a friend, K. I arrived about half an hour late which I hated (I don't like being late, period.) because the bridge by my stop on the 1 train actually was LIFTED so that a boat could pass by. I didn't think it was actually possible. It was kinda amazing.
- Since we were late and missed the first showing, we got the next showing and decided to spend the time in Cafe Zaiya. :DDD I just love that place. (I found out it opens at 7am and have been trying to decide how to work it into my morning path so I can get food there. lol)
- We went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I have wanted to see this movie for AGES since I saw the first preview. a;sdkfjalskdj It was rather brilliant, guys. I loved it. Michael Cera is totally being typecasted now, but he does it so frigging well that I'm not sure I mind. XP There was one (or two) plot points that I could've done without, but I actually really enjoyed it. :D It is a movie I'd rec to those who liked, say, Juno? The music was also rather awesome. I might pick up the soundtrack.
- The previews before the movie were almost ALL amazing. Minus the horror movie one (which, guys, wtf, came out of nowhere) they were genius. Two that I remember for sure is Role Models with Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott, and Zack and Miri Make a Porno with Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks (Seems that Elizabeth Banks is actually in both movies. Busy, isn't she?) OH OH OH. JUST REMEMBERED. CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC TOO. I MAY WATCH THAT BECAUSE I'VE READ THE BOOKS (at least most of them anyway). a;sdkljlaksjflkajsd Too many movies. @.@
- Afterward, we went to Dallas BBQ where I got a Crispy Shrimp and Crabcake dish thing, with a Dallas-sized Mango Pina Colada. lol I got carded, but that's to be expected. I love how the waitress looked at K and was like, alcoholic, right? Then turns to me and is like, uhhhhhh. Vi- "Alcoholic." "...Can I see your ID? You look really young." God, you don't even know the half of it, lady.
- We had nothing else to do so we went to Bryant Park and sat near the carousel which is apparently also the kid's reading area. lol We picked up a Winnie the Pooh book and started reading it to each other while trying to do it in the character's voices. K had Pooh and Eeyore. She was really good. I failed as Christopher Robin and Piglet, and C gave Tigger a Scottish accent (and she had Roo). ...To be fair, it'd been a long time since any of us actually heard the voices. lol
- After the craziness of that, we just chatted about our past and compared and contrasted teachers, schools, ...classes? I just. Yeah. lol It was just so funny. And after that, we separated and headed home. lol It wasn't really that adventurous of a day. lol And we just always seem to stay at 42nd.

Sunday:
- Headed over to the MoMA for my Creative Writing class to meet up with C and S. S was already there despite sending me a text that said she'd be late. lol. Then C showed up and we were like, FOOD.
- For some reason, I was under the impression that it was 11 even though we met at 1. So when we went to the nearby cafe, I was expecting the breakfast menu. Speaking of that cafe, we were standing outside just looking at the menu, the manager just ushered us in and was like, "sit down!" lol. Thankfully, we were in the mood, so we sat down.
- It was the CUTEST cafe. Ohmygod. But we were in like White Man's Land. C and I are Asian and S was black, and we were surrounded by only white people. It was really just amusing. XP THE CUTEST CAFE. Have I mentioned that already? It's kinda secluded and off to the corner that it's not really noticeable, but the food was great, and it wasn't that pricey for a place in midtown Manhattan.
- So we went to MoMA and got in for free since we're City College students (yay! how useful), and walked around for like what? an hour and a half? ;alskdfjaskldj Tired, so tired. The MoMA isn't as interesting to me as the Met is. Granted, I liked the old traditional type paintings. I guess my likes are really focused. At one point, C was INSISTENT that there was a Matisse tucked away in a stairwell somewhere and that it was the oddest thing. Next thing we knew, we walked into a room with a hallway and lo and behold, there's the Matisse. lol Go figure.
- Managed to find two paintings to my liking that I could write my Art Criticism paper on. *sigh* Not that I want to write this paper anyway. lol
- After walking around all the floors (man is that building tall), we went down to the second paper to sit on the couches. They were hella comfortable. Found myself lying down at one point, and then I was out like a light for maybe 10 minutes. XPPPP
- Then we went over to the street fair nearby that I'd seen when I was walking to the MoMA. Ended up catching a parade making its way down... Madison, I think? It took us 5 minutes to figure out wtf a parade was doing there. (It was for Poland, we think.)
- The street fair was interesting. Bought a strawberry crepe (was delish) and these two dollar earrings that I'm wearing right now. lol :DDDDD
- S stopped at two psychics to get a reading. Was interesting.
- Also ate at Taco Bell. T.T It's been so long. Crunchwrap Supreme all the way. God. ;aslkdjflaskdjflkjasdlf DELICIOUS. *____________________*
- After that, we were all so tired from walking down the street fair from like 53rd to 42nd that we just headed straight home. lol Couldn't be helped.

ii. Watched the end of Ryoko's Case File! as;ldkjfaslkdjrlakjsdf Just one comment. as;dlfkajskldj What was that ENDING LINE?!!? "I am Yakushiji Ryoko's ...." THAT'S IT. THAT'S WHERE IT ENDS. DID SOMETHING HAPPEN!?!?!? i wanted confessions. She was so obviously in love with him. >.< Other than that, enjoyed the anime but felt like they just went back to square one at the end. lol if so, then what the hell was the point of the entire thing. ~_~;; I guess this leaves one anime left that I haven't seen the ending to - granted, the subbing's stopped, so really, what can I do? ~_~;;

iii. Started writing my jeficgames fic. a;sldkfjslaj Er. Got a page in. LOL. Oh god. Man, it's been too long that I've written JE that it's weird getting back into the swing of things. ~_~;;

iv. *In my poetry class*
Guy: I once saw "verklempt" used as a sound effect in a (Swedish?) comic book. It was for a right hook. *right hook* "Verklempt!"
...Teacher: I don't think there's a word for a word of something that doesn't mean what it sounds like. Like an anti-onomatopoeia. ...That was a crappy word. I just made that up on the spot. Maybe you guys can think of a better one.
Guy: Verklempt?

v. I got another free bottle of Mountain Dew today. I swear, that machine loves me or something. This is the third time. My karma's gonna be SHOT, isn't it? T.T

P.S. ;askldjfaklsjd Been working on [livejournal.com profile] jfansubs lately. God. This is a good demonstration why I need a partner in crime. They usually kick me in the ass. ~_~;;
