Thanksgiving
Nov. 23rd, 2006 10:16 pmHappy Gobble-Gobble Day, everyone!
I had pretty much two Thanksgivings and both were very, very good.
My first one was yesterday with my friends. It's been a bit of a tradition that we all get together in our friend Amanda's house and cook our Thanksgiving year. This would be our third time and the one in which we are ACTUALLY cooking food. Our spread was absolutely amazing this year. Chicken, fried rice, mashed potatoes (with the skin weirdly enough), some yams (although that was mainly Amanda's), mac and cheese, biscuits, stuffing. And then for dessert, we had homemade applepie, 2 cheesecakes (both homemade fillings), and some ice cream. All in all, VERY satisfying and all sorts of fun.
Plus, while we cooked (well, they did and I sneezed due to the fact that I had ultimately forgotten that Amanda had a cat and I have a wicked allergy to cats), we watched movies! Love Actually (my favoritest movie in the world), America's Sweethearts, and this THING (not a movie) my friend had called "My Instantly Adoring Boyfriend." If you need something to either give you a WHOLE load of compliments from a guy (although not so cute but who can turn away free compliments) or something you want to rant at because he is SO freaking dumb or just gay... this is the video to watch. It's literally a guy who turned on a camera to talk to it pretending its his girlfriend. There are really very little words to describe just... how strange it is.
And of course, the typical grateful speeches. Cathy's was long and extremely hilarious. I'm apparently her fat buddy. When Amanda pointed out that I'm not really fat, Cathy said "in due time." Heh. Anyway... It was some fun times.
Today was another one. It wasn't as eventful but still filled with laughs. Went to my mom's friends house in New Jersey. Had a WHOLE lot of free food and played cards. What SADDENS me is that I missed TV today!
No Ugly Betty (only saw the first half then we left) and NO CSI! T.T That one made me cry. So am waiting until can watch it... Hopefully soon.
In other news, I have a lovely job interview tomorrow. Hopefully that'll go well... A girl can pray. XP
That's it for this post. Am tired and should be going to bed... Gotta wake up at 5 after all. XP
