[#001] Returning to the Weeds
Nov. 12th, 2022 04:30 pmSO. Because of the ridiculousness that is social media, I decided, huh, let's dust off these cobwebs and attempt to get back to some old school blogging. But as Rai mentioned on Twitter, we're so used to thinking in 280 characters and in one liners and the immediateness of word vomiting our thoughts.
I remember back when I used to do this more often, I would actually like prep posts by basically doing an outline--"here are the items I want to tackle." lol Which tbh, I ALSO DID WITH THIS POST. I mean, I only have two points, but still counts! Another thing is, that typing takes time off me knitting so lol, another reason why the immediacy of Twitter kept its grasp on me for so long (A.K.A. will probably continue to if it doesn't implode).
I don't know how pacing works on these anymore so...just a word vomit of thoughts!
1) This weekend, I really have one goal--research flights to the Philippines! My brother had been waiting on me to talk to my boss before we started doing research. And then I finally managed to do so on Thursday, and I don't know. I was really nervous about the whole thing. I've only ever taken a two week or so vacation and that was back when I was part-time and felt a bit more okay about it. lol But a full-time job? Two weeks feels like SO MUCH TIME. But she said okay so quickly. I barely had to even ask before she went "Okay! We'll make it work." I didn't even have to offer to work from home, but she did tell me if I decide to wfh in the Philippines (to preserve vacation days), I can.
Looking at how much paid time off I have, I do have enough for two weeks but with only two days left over. Which makes me wonder if I should work while I'm there... But eh. Anyway. I haven't done any research really so that is something I definitely have to figure out lol
2) I DON'T KNOW PACING. I feel like everything is so abrupt! Anyway, another thing that I thought would motivate me to keep posting is a meme of some kind! So, because I only have one goddamn obsession right now, I figured, might as well!

Guys, I have had to try to remember html for this lol Also the trials and tribulations of trying to find the link to embed an image uploaded to Google Photos was a PAIN IN MY ASS. I am also realizing that because you can't do any special text on Twitter, all I do is use CAPS for emphasis now. lol What a habit to break.
P.S. Oh god, how do I do tags again?
