[#96] Some of These Happy Points are Days Old.

But I hope you guys don't mind me cheating. lolol

i. Happy stuff! :D
+ Last Friday, the 9 hour marathon Skype call with Jennie and Peyton. I still don't know how we spent so much time just babbling about who knows what. Although two hours of that were spent on Peyton on her pizza, from deciding if she should get it to the point when it was delivered. Another couple of hours spent talking fic - both [livejournal.com profile] je_ficgames and [livejournal.com profile] je_holiday. (Mainly Peyton and I spazzing to Jennie about all she's missed since she hasn't been reading fic.) I think all of us got phone calls from various people at some points (Peyton was miss popular). God, and I think they helped me try to solve a crossword puzzle. That I don't think I finished on that note. lolol
+ Peyton invited me to her place. "I have an empty bed for you." Bow-chika-wow-wow.
+ The episode Rashomama played on Friday. And that is, hands down, my favorite CSI episode of existence. If you watch CSI and have never seen this episode, you are so missing out. :DDD Pimpimpim.
+ I managed to convince Cyn and Jennie (although the second one was a joint effort with Peyton) to get twitters. Who rocks? :D (AKA, if you do not have a twitter. you should get one now. And then friend me. I'm tinyangl.)
+ Yamapi and V6 are going to be on VS Arashi. Who's ridiculously happy? I AM I AM. January 10th can't come any sooner. *____________*
+ Tegoshi wanting to be flawless. Total A+.
+ Tegoshi asking Yamapi to Karaoke straight out. Even more A+.
+ J-Friends' I Will Get There. If you've never heard it, you should now. Amazing fucking song.
+ Just Peyton in general. :D She knows why.
+ Toda Erika on Domoto Kyoudai. I didn't used to like her, but after Ryuusei no Kizuna and this interview, she's really growing on me. Also, Koichi's magic trick was fucking awesome. Making her birthday with the cards? DUDE. WHO DOES THAT?! Holy shit. Even if it's raw, everyone should watch just for that, honestly. It's worth it. *______________*
+ This picture of Okada, Morita, Miyake. Hysterical. Be warned, Okada's in his tightie whities. lololol
+ Subbed K-chan Episodes: 1234. All are absolutely hysterical. I totally recommend checking them out.
+ Getting my week of jesummary posted. :DDDD
+ Oh! Almost forgot. Grades are starting to trickle in. :DD A- for Grammar! Honestly? That's the only one that I thought would come close to a B (Granted, I don't know how Creative Writing prof will grade, so who knows). But hearing that it's an A makes me giddy. Maybe I'll be able to boost my average with this semester. Ridiculously happy.
+ I love my twitter. That is the only reason I have most of this list. lolol Looking back at my twitters so helps. XD

ii. Galileo Zero.
Finally managed to watch this despite downloading it ages ago. Ohmygod, so amazing. It only served to remind me that I really liked the drama and then I really wished that I saw Yukawa and Kaoru together again. Random points!

+ Yukawa being lecherous. Hysterical. I love the assistant trying to get girls to "play" with Yukawa but failing miserably.
+ The guy who plays Kusanagi. I'd seen him in a couple of other things, but for some reason, he was just really hot to me in this. I don't even know why.
+ I was genuinely surprised when I suddenly saw Masami show up. With her glasses and white coat. She thoroughly amused me though. Loved her interactions with Yukawa, trying to hit on him and convince him to stay by saying she had a really tiny bikini and then Yukawa going off on how it'd be great if girls wore bikinis to class. I was like WTF. LOL Also, love at the end when she leaves and he's babbling about love (as always) and she's like, he doesn't get it. Yukawa never did get a clue.
+ LOVED MIURA. Ohmygod. He had Yukawa down, honestly. I thought it was brilliantly acted and just all around amazing. ;alskdjlkasfjd I was honestly waiting for him to show up on screen and when he did, I flailed hard. :DDDD
+ The cases were good. I mean, I liked them but it's not like I can say much about them. lolol
+ This just made me want to find out what happens in the dman movie. Wantwantwant. alsdkjalfksjdf
+ OH. At the end of the special, we got a performance of Shibasaki Kou and Fukuyama Masaharu. SO BEAUTIFUL. OHMYGOD. I knew they performed together for this, but I'd never actually seen them together so seeing Fukuyama in the back with the guitar made me flail ridiculously.
+ Honestly, a good watch for those who saw Galileo before. And if you've never seen Galileo, what the heck are you doing reading this?! lol Seriously. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. :DDDDD Plus Miura = A+.
+ OH, random note. For a split second, Sailor Venus was one of the assistants. I was like OH HAY. LOOK WHO'S ON MY SCREEN! :D

iii. It's the holidays! I thought I'd be nice and offer up some of my writing (as terrible as it is). The last time I ask for prompts, I know I failed. DDD: Sorry. But this time, I have more free time (aka right now) so prompt me something to write for you! Granted, I have no promises for length, so it may range from one sentence to .....Well, let's not go there. lol So prompt away! :D No deadline that I can think of. Hopefully, I'll be better about this one. *dies*

[identity profile] hwangak.livejournal.com 2008-12-24 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
is it fine if I ask for one too? :D;

We're driving 'round chasing the stars

Koyama closes his eyes and sighs.

"What are you thinking about?" Ryo asks from the driver's seat. Koyama looks over, noticing how the lights hit his face as they drive past each street lamp--dark to light to dark again. His eyes though are always shrouded in shadow.

"Nothing," Koyama answers truthfully.

"Then why'd you sigh?" Ryo never looks away from the road, never turns to Koyama, and even though it would be dangerous, Koyama feels a little disheartened. He turns away, staring at the road in front of him.

"Because I felt like it."

A silence falls inside the car until Ryo comes to a complete stop at a red light. Koyama can feel Ryo's eyes on him. "Do you regret it?"

Koyama turns to meet Ryo's strong and sturdy gaze. "No. It was a good decision. The right one." He shuts his eyes again and sighs.

Ryo's gaze never wavers until the car jerks back into drive and Koyama can feel the questioning look stop for at least a couple of minutes. Silence surrounds them again, and before Koyama can actually think of something, the car comes to a stop in front of his family's restaurant.

As he unbuckles, Ryo's hand lands on his, stopping him. Koyama looks up to a face that's not pitying, but something about it feels like it is--and that just makes Koyama want to break down when it's the last thing he wants to do right now. At this second. He swallows down his emotions.

"Are you going to be okay?"

Koyama wants to laugh. It seems like such a simple question--but it really trails all the way back to the fact that NewS isn't going to be together anymore, he's not going to work at Johnny's anymore. And for that, Koyama resents Ryo for that second. That moment where Ryo should've known better than to ask that.

"No," Koyama answers, meeting Ryo's serious gaze. "But I'll get over it. Right now though, Ryo-chan. RIght now, I don't know what tomorrow's going to bring." He shakes Ryo's hands off of him and removes his seat belt, sliding out of the car. "Thanks for the ride." Koyama pauses as he leans back into the car. "And good luck at Johnny's. I'll always be rooting for you."

He shuts the door behind him before Ryo can say anything back. Entering his home, and what is probably going to be his home for the next couple more years, Koyama goes up to his room. When he gets to his window, he sees Ryo's car still parked outside, Ryo leaning against it with his attention focused on his cell phone. Koyama stares, watching as Ryo punches something into his phone and then looks up to catch Koyama standing at his window. There's an unmistakable smile on Ryo's face that makes Koyama half-wonder what he's thinking before he's distracted by his phone going off--Hoshi wo Mezashite fills the room.

Koyama grabs his phone and realizes that Ryo was writing a message to him. Swallowing, Koyama starts to read and he doesn't think he can breathe for the few minutes he spends just reading and then re-reading. Four times.

"Furikaeranai sa mou nidou to wa (We won't look back and never again)
Hoshi wo mezashite (Let's aim for the stars)
Utai nagara boku wa arukidasu (I will sing as we move forward)"

By the time Koyama remembers to go back to the window, Ryo's already gone. He closes his eyes and exhales.

Tell me you'll remember

Koyama refuses to lose contact with anyone--even if they're not working together. He texts all six of them at least once a week, calls Shige every night because some things just never change, and someone has to make sure he gets to bed at night before an early trial the next morning.

"Do you miss it?" Shige asks out of the blue during one of their phone calls.

Part 2sers!

[identity profile] tinyangl.livejournal.com 2008-12-26 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Miss it?" Koyama echoes as he's drying some of the dishes, his phone nestled between his shoulder and his head. "A little. I liked performing, I loved singing with you guys. If anything, I miss being around everyone all the time." There's a hitch in Shige's breathing and Koyama closes his eyes, swallowing. "But I made a choice and I'm not backing out," he adds, hoping, praying that Shige doesn't get guilty all over again. For something he couldn't have prevented--it was Koyama's choice to quit in the office after Johnny refused to let Shige leave the group. Koyama wanted Shige to go after what he believed in.

"I miss it too," Shige says softly--Koyama freezes in his actions. Shige hadn't spoken about the separation in the three weeks since it happened. "I didn't. I still don't. We shouldn't have broken up like that," he finally says. "We deserved better. We should've gotten better. It wasn't fair that he'd do that to us."

Koyama sighs, placing the plate neatly into its slot. "I know."

"He should've kept you guys going. Shouldn't have made an ultimatum. That wasn't fair."

Koyama smiles, half-sitting/half-leaning against the sink. "I know."

Shige's in near tears on the other end and Koyama wants nothing more than to comfort him, just to get him to stop. Because Koyama empathizes more than anyone, and right now, he feels like his heart is going to rip in shreds all over again. "I'm sorry."

"Hey," Koyama says roughly--as roughly as he can manage anyway. "Don't apologize. We did what had to be done. We've all accepted it."

"Kei-chan."

"Now, go to sleep. It's late and from what I remember, the hearing's at 8 in the morning. Learn up, okay? Become a great lawyer and show everyone what you can do."

"Un," Shige says on the other line before saying his good nights and hanging up. Koyama removes his apron, heart pounding. He heads for the door, grabbing his jacket and telling his parents that he's heading out--not entirely sure where, but he does it anyway.

His phone is open and out before he knows it and the phone number he punches in surprises even him. "Koyama?" Ryo greets, his voice filled with confusion. "What's up?"

"You're still in Tokyo for filming, right?"

"Yeah. Want to meet up?"

Koyama nods first, before realizing that he's on the phone and verbally says it. "Yeah. You remember that cafe by where I live, right?"

"Uh-huh."

"Is an hour enough time?"

Ryo chuckles. "Half. I'll be there soon."

Ryo hangs up before Koyama can say bye, but he doesn't mind. He enters the cafe, giving the waitress a smalls mile before moving to a booth right next to the windows. It doesn't even take Ryo a half hour to get there--only about 20 minutes (which only makes Koyama wonder if he sped on his way there).

"Hey," Ryo breathes, slipping into the other side of the booth just as Koyama puts down his half finished cigarette. "What's up?"

Koyama chuckles, staring at his hands, not meeting Ryo's eyes. "Not much."

He can feel Ryo watching him with a quizzical look on his face, but Koyama's grateful when Ryo doesn't broach the topic immediately, instead ordering something to eat and drink from the waitress. When she leaves though, Ryo asks, "Why'd you call me?"

"I don't know," Koyama says, before laughing. "I never know anymore, Ryo-chan." He looks up, half-smiling even though he's almost positive his eyes are brimming with tears. "I never thought I was the type to get so attached to my job. Never thought I'd let it define me, but now without it, I'm lost. Out there in the real world with not a clue to do. What the hell is a Japanese literature degree going to help me?"

Ryo stares at him, no frown, no nothing. Just stares before softly saying. "Isn't the floundering just another part of real life?"

Koyama laughs. "When does it stop?"

"When you stop holding on to the past."

Koyama meets Ryo's eyes, unwavering. The waitress comes by, placing Ryo's orders down and then is gone in another moment. They still don't break their eye contact until a clatter behind Koyama--the waitress dropping her tray--distracts them both. Ryo looks down at his food and starts eating while Koyama focuses on the cigarette he'd put down minutes ago.

um HOPEFULLY THE LAST PART. Part 3

[identity profile] tinyangl.livejournal.com 2008-12-26 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Neither talk for the rest of the night--only saying their goodbyes when they leave. Koyama almost feels guilty for not telling Ryo thanks--just thanks for being there, thanks for coming on short notice, thanks for his words--even if they weren't what he had been looking for. They were what he needed.

Even so, Koyama doesn't say thanks. He needs more time.

--

Fallin through the night, rising from the ashes

While Koyama doesn't stop talking to Ryo--not that he would ever allow himself to break ties anyway--it's only a couple of months later that he finally sees him face to face.

"Congratulations on the new place." Ryo raises his glass to him before taking a sip.

Koyama grins, tipping his glass towards Ryo as well. "Thanks for making time in your busy schedule to come celebrate."

Tegoshi presses against Ryo's side, swinging an arm around. "Ryo-tan would never miss out a party with the six of us!"

"We'd kidnap him from wherever and make sure he's here," Yamapi jokes, taking a sip of his beer.

"Not like we couldn't overpower him," Shige smirks. Ryo glares darkly at him; Shige only shrugs.

"I just think it's great that we're together again," Massu chimes--his voice with a tinge of melancholy.

Koyama smiles. "Yeah, me too." He sips some of his drink as the room goes off in conversation--Tegoshi, Yamapi and Massu chat about Massu's most recent drama (some thing about chefs), Ryo and Shige compare workload--almost like they're trying to see who's been working more. Koyama shakes his head, chuckling.

The members--friends--trickle out one by one, leaving Ryo alone with Koyama, cleaning up the mess they'd left. "You'd think you wouldn't let your guest clean up with you."

Koyama grins. "If you didn't want to clean, you could've just left like everyone else."

"Ah, I knew I went wrong somewhere." Koyama chuckles as he falls back onto his couch. Ryo joins him a few seconds later, putting down the empty glasses he'd gathered on the table in front of them. "How does it feel getting out? Being in the new world."

"Scary," Koyama says. "Necessary."

"It's what you want?"

Koyama pauses, taking in a breath, slowly closing his eyes. "Yeah." He nods as he speaks, "Yeah, it's what I want."

Ryo's hand meets his--warm and friendly and familiar and comforting. His fingers tangle with Koyama's as he murmurs, "Then you're doing the right thing."

Koyama feels the smile spread over his face. "I know." He pauses again. "Thanks."

"No problem."

Ryo ends up staying the night and Koyama's more than glad for it. It's a nice feeling waking up his first night in his apartment to a familiar face.

--

You & me forever, forever young

They don't really talk it out, not really. It happens so gradually that when Koyama turns around, he's not entirely sure when it actually started.

Ryo kisses him lightly one night when Koyama's getting up to get a new cup of tea--Ryo's taken to crashing at his place after work when he's in Tokyo. Koyama closes his eyes--warm and light--before Ryo pulls back. Koyama licks his lips, opening his eyes again to see Ryo focusing on the television again.

"What was that for?" Koyama asks, hand to his lips.

"I felt like it," Ryo says simply, turning his gaze on Koyama.

Koyama blinks then smiles, leaning in to press a kiss on Ryo's lips. When he pulls back, Ryo asks, "And what was that for?"

"I felt like it," Koyama responds, walking towards the kitchen. He hears Ryo chuckling behind him as he moves.

They don't complicate things--don't want to, because sometimes, actions say more than words. And Koyama is just reminded of the day he walked out of Johnny's office after Johnny had told Shige to choose--Koyama made his choice. Voiceless, but loud all the same.

i lied. part 4

[identity profile] tinyangl.livejournal.com 2008-12-26 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
He does the same thing now as he hands Ryo a key to his apartment. Ryo stares at him, mouth open in what has to be shock. "Wha-"

"So you don't have to keep waking me up, pounding the door at like 1 in the morning and asking to be let in," Koyama explains before Ryo can even get the question out.

"Oh." Ryo still can't say anything past that.

"You're welcome," Koyama snorts, shaking his head.

Ryo smiles then--a smile that has to be the most sincere Koyama's ever seen--before murmuring, "Thank you." He leans forward, tugging Koyama's towards him, pressing his lips against Ryo's. "Thank you."

asdklrjaskdfjlksj I DON'T THINK THIS FULFILLS YOUR PROMPT. Dies. I fail. Hard. Sorry. Hope you enjoy nonetheless?
