[#036] "Pushing My Feet Off The Ground"

aka, my answer to the Writer's Block question of what I'd possibly title my autobiography. XD Although that's a bit of a joke in and of itself. XDDDD

i. I've been meaning to post, but got lazy. was watching loads of videos and working on other stuff (or playing games) at the same time. or idk what other reason there could be. just that I didn't post. lol But one thing I've been meaning to talk about! I finished Keizoku 2: SPEC a couple of days ago and it was utterly amazing. Much different than I'd expected, more twisted, more dark. If you guys don't know, this is the drama where Toda Erika pretty much embraces being dirty, gross, eating loads and loads of gyoza, getting in people's faces because she doesn't know the meaning of personal space, and getting hit over the head by Kase Ryo everytime she does/says something stupid/ridiculous. Oh, it's also the drama where they try to solve weird cases that more often than not have the supernatural centered around it. And unlike usual dramas where the supernatural is actually just tricks people use to look like its supernatural this one actually does have people with supernatural powers! What's really interesting about this drama is that they do NOT pull any stops in harming the stars. I mean, of course, they don't die in it (is that a spoiler? lol) but they get HURT like nobody's business. there's even a point where they're in the hospital for an extended amount of time. And well, there's also the whole thing where Toda's character's arm is in a sling from start to end of this drama. Anyway, even if it is a detective drama (which not many people like, I know), it's still utterly fascinating. The acting is off the wall good and there's actually a lot of comedy in between all the serious. The cases are interesting and some even throw you for a loop. And just, the evil characters are SERIOUSLY EVIL. :/// Kamiki especially plays a really good bad guy. I didn't realize he could play crazy SO FREAKING WELL.

ii. So my mom told me yesterday that my brother was recommended for this summer program at the University of Washington. He has to fill out this application and basically compete for a spot in only TEN kids for this thing that focuses on math, science and computing. If he gets it, he gets free tuition, room, and board and transportation there (aka plane tickets). Plus college units after it's done! Totally fascinating, and ofc, she asked me to help. ~_~;; IDK how i'm supposed to help when I suck at these kinds of applications, but whatever.

It did have me thinking that I sorely want another vacation this summer (or maybe even spring if it's cheaper) because up until last year (minus that summer in high school when I went to the Philippines with the family), I never really went on vacation. 1) because i had no money and 2) because i had school obligations for the most part. oh and more importantly, no money. And so unless it was with the family, I rarely went anywhere for the summer. But after Japan and now that I have a job (albeit it being part-time), I really want to take the opportunity to go places. Even if it's only for two weeks. So I'm so wondering where I should go this summer! Nowhere too far this time (AKA not half-way across the world) because I actually have to save money for another big trip in 2013 (my mom's going to the Philippines for a class reunion and said we should go as a family and I'M TOTALLY UP FOR IT). But I haven't really gone to many places in the United States itself, so I'm debating if I should just visit the West Coast! :D IDK. What do you guys think? *______________*

iii. Lastly, PEYTON IS THE BEST EVER. For about a week, Peyton alluded that she had sent me something in the mail (saying that it was Sakamoto's proposal to me after I publicly proposed to HIM on [livejournal.com profile] jep_cast--lol that sounds even funnier written down than it was SAYING it XDDD obviously, it was a joke. because as peyton put it, there are many reasons why we wouldn't work *snort* one being that that is the stupidest thing i've ever said probably lol). But it WAS V6 related!!! SHE GOT ME V6's VERY BEST II ALBUM!!!!!!!! *_______________* It's so pretty and new and omg, I actually own a V6 thing! (well, except the Sakamoto and Okada official shop photos I already have) but a;sldkfjalskdfjalsdkfj I was like SQUEALING when I came home and saw the album. *___________* Not to mention, SHE WROTE ME A LETTER ON ARASHI STATIONARY. THE CUTEST THING EVER. *______________* Peyton, btw, your penmanship is uber adorable. Do you always write in swirls? lol Anyway, I LOVE YOU DEARLY, PEYTON. YOU ARE THE BESTEST BEST BEST EVER. ♥♥♥♥

lol my writing has been described many ways, but that's the first time it's been described as "swirls". ;) i like it! but yes, i always write like that. it's an illness. XD (or more so, a result of me combining my favorite things from cursive and printing lol)

i approve of your vacation plans! if you wanted to come to northern cali, depending on what time you wanted to come out (i may be out of the country in the early summer, i dunno yet), i would host you for a couple of days! :D days trips to san fran! explore what little there is in sacramento! the offer always stands. :) vacationing on your own is such a different beast than with family. it's good to be able to decide exactly what you want to do and have no one impede on that. :)

Oooooh. It's so cute! my penmanship is horribly ugly cursive (cursive because i find it faster to write in that than printing XD). But SO CUTE. :DDDDD It's so not an illness. on boards and such, do you write like that still? Because lol omg, i'd fawn over your penmanship in class. i mean, that is if you write on boards. lol

:DDDDDDDDDD I would LOVE TO VISIT YOU. :DD you could totally show me around--i mean, if you have the time/want to lol. (what little there is in sacramento? lol) It really is very different! Although at the same time, i like traveling with others because somehow, i feel i enjoy it more--or get frustrated more, depending on the trip. lol :D

sometimes i write in all caps, but yesterday when i was teaching, i wrote in that normal style on the board, yes. lol i have had students/professors tell me two things over the years, "ohmigod your writing is so small!" and "your writing looks like script!" XD

i probably would have time for you. you are so small, you'd fit. ;P

Is it twisted that I absolutely love Kamiki in this? D: I think it is, I must be crazy. I love Keizoku 2:SPEC, though, it is so amazing omg. I need to finish the recaps and then the subs hahah.

I'd say go to Cali! 8D

[identity profile] tinyangl.livejournal.com 2011-01-13 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahaha! It's not twisted at ALL. he's kind of brilliant. In truth, I was just more surprised he wasn't the BEALLENDALL EVIL person. (finish the recaps?! What's this about!)

Heee~ Any particular reason? :D

[identity profile] boycottbananas.livejournal.com 2011-01-13 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Good. Because I totally started watching it for him in the first place, hahah. AHHHH no more spoilers! This is one I must watch for myself. 8D (I've been following [livejournal.com profile] thoughtsramble's recaps as they were coming out (episode 8 here), and then I'll go back and watch the subs later. I'm not doing recaps themselves, if that's what you thought! XD Although I might, to spread the love. Hahah.)

I've just always wanted to visit there, right after New York. I figure if I probably never will, someone else should! :3
