...so I take the time to post!
of course, the question is what to post about and since real life has just been a spiral of preparing for Japan, shopping, hanging out with friends, eating, family things... I have no desire to talk about any of those things. lol
instead, media! I haven't talked about any of the shows/movies I've been watching in forever so here's a quick post of things I'd rec. No matter how old some of these may be lol.
i. Warehouse 13: (see trailer here) this is a SyFy show and honestly, it's really very random that I picked this up because I never watch shows on the SyFy network (minus the Alice special thing). i randomly picked it up after I saw a cm of it on Discovery. It's about these two Secret Service agents, Myka and Pete, who are transferred from Washington D.C. to this warehouse in South Dakota. But it's not just any warehouse, guys. it's a warehouse that holds supernatural objects, artifacts are what they call them. The two agents, along with another agent Artie, work to gather artifacts that really really aren't good to be out in the world. Some awesome artifacts that they've either collected or already had - Lewis Carroll's looking glass (which in the beginning Pete played ping pong against himself), Durational Spectrometer, Ben Franklin's lightning rod, Studio 54 Disco ball (which was totally lol), Robin Hood's crossbow, Sylvia Plath's typewriter (which omg, gradually sucks the life out of a person) etc. etc. The first season aired last year with 12 episodes and I totally marathoned it over the weekend. I lovelovelove the characters. Myka and Pete's relationship is amazing to watch grow as Myka really warms to Pete and Pete warms to Myka. This is also probably the first time (that I can recall right now) where I HAVEN'T shipped a duo at all. i love them as friends and almost hope that they keep them in that stage.
Not to mention there's Artie who, even though he's so secretive it's annoying, is still a pretty awesome character. especially seeing him trying to keep Myka and Pete under control. it gets doubly funny when they introduce Claudia who I absolutely adore and watching as she interacts with artie because if we said Artie was old school, she'd be current and hip. And she's just plain hysterical. especially when it comes to dealing with the warehouse. her enthusiasm is totally obvious and so welcome! <3
Seriously, check this show out! So amusing, the artifacts are just brilliant and trying to figure out what they do is fun as well. The characters are all fun to watch (I didn't even mention Mrs. Frederick who is so ninja she beats ACTUAL ninjas I swear) and their interactions are ♥ Totally worth the watch. Plus the next season starts in July! SQUEE! :D
ii. Tenshi no Koi: (see trailer here) I haven't been very fortunate in my movie choices lately in that most have been either eh or crap. (The crap ones I have actually been just STOPPING them and chucking them. which i almost never do because i always believed that i got this far, might as well finish. not the case now. XD) but this movie was by far one of the best I've seen in a LONG while. Sasaki Nozomi and Tanihara Shosuke star in this as Rio and Kouki respectively and ohmygod they are the cutest OTP i've ever seen. this is a movie based on a cell phone novel which honestly, i don't have much of an opinion on. I never saw Koizora so yeah... but omg, this was lovely. so so lovely. The interactions between Rio and Kouki made the movie for me from their first meet-up to Rio's growing affection for Kouki to their first date to omg, the FIRST KISS which i rewatched over and over again and squeed over and over again. The... i suppose growth in Rio's character was interesting although i was like whatevs after a while and just wanted to see more Rio and Kouki. Sasaki Nozomi was absolutely gorgeous in this movie and I adored every single fucking outfit she had. I kind of want her closetalthough i do not want to do what she did to get them ahemahem. But seriously, an enjoyable movie. WELL worth the watch (which in Kami talk means PICK IT UP NOW). :D
iii. Hidarime Tantei Eye: FINALLY finished this series. i had only finished the first two episodes before I just got too BUSY to keep up with it. to start off, um, this is totally wrong of me but i totally shipped yamada/ishihara's character after a while. ::hides:: I KNOW I SHOULDN'T HAVE, but after a while, it got too cute. especially that ending scene where she moved to punch him and he dodged. then Ishihara's chara laughs at yamada's chara going "it was a joke" and then punching him for real. XDDDD it was just all too cute. in my head, they totally adlibbed that scene. anyway. the ending made absolutely no sense to me--where did the "redemption" so to speak of Yoko's character even come from? or how was he looking out for yamada? maybe i missed something but omg, i was so confused. otherwise, the drama was pretty... um, creepy. XD there was so many things happening to KIDS nonetheless (more often than not) and it was like O.O wtf is going on here! I ...honestly don't know what to say other than Yoko was hot most of the time. ishihara was kind of pointless but whatever, like I cared when I had her on my screen being adorable and yamada was... ....yamada? idek. It was good enough for me to say that I didn't totally waste my time. lol
okay other than that, I should go back to work. BLAH. dnw.
I can't believe in a week and a DAY i'll be going off to the airport TO GO TO JAPAN. omg freaking nervous (why nervous, don't ask me. XD)
