[#094] Gained some new friends!
Jul. 6th, 2010 01:36 pmThanks to Crys! lol Just in time for me to dash off and go on vacation!! WOOT. In a little over 12 hours, I will be in a plane heading to JAPAN. My dream since high school (what, 8-9 years back? omg, what's that number) and it's finally coming true. Sure, it's not with both sisters like I wanted/originally planned, but I have C and boy!J to make up the difference. :D I'm nervous and anxious and worried, but I'm sure once I step out of that plane onto Japan, I will be so in awe that it'll be forgotten. Then I'll wonder if we have enough to do, if everyone's feeling okay, if we'll be okay traveling there by ourselves. But, lol, that's just my natural worrywart side coming out. :D
In other news, watched a total of four movies and caught up till episode 7 of Tsuki no Koibito. omg, I'm crazy? XD Only talking about 3/4 of the movies (briefly, ofc) because the 4th one, Naoko... well, let's just say I wasn't paying much attention to Ueno Juri or Miura Haruma. Regardless if Miura Haruma was wearing some mighty short shorts (he was playing a runner! it's part of the "uniform").
- Laundry: Starring Kubozuka and Koyuki. Um, Kubozuka was mesmerizing in this--his character was a little... touched in the head. I'm not entirely sure why but as they reiterated, he had fallen into a manhole, got a scar in his head--and his brain and so, yeah. A little impaired. And Koyuki... well, let's just say one of the images I'd never thought I'd see of her was her trying to steal a television. And this is an old-ish movie (2002) so a television then means the ones that were kind of huge with the backs (none of this flat-screen stuff) and so... yeah. Kind of hysterical. The combination of the two was really great--this kind of kinship that they had was captivating and you couldn't help but want both of them to be happy with each other. Because as one of the characters said, apart he'd think they'd be horrible. But it's because they're together that they work, exist really. *__________* Loved it. Also, thought it was going to end depressingly (or open-ended, who knows which is worse really), but omg, they made me SO HAPPY. ♥♥ Definitely a great movie ending, imo. And a great movie all around.
- Doukyusei: This one surprised me in that I wasn't expecting much while I watched it. Or I should say, wasn't expecting much when I picked it up. However, it makes you care for these characters so well that by the end, no matter what, you are wibbling. And I am the cold wench so if I say that, it must be like 5x worse for those with a soul. XD That said, I enjoyed this movie immensely. At the end, it really does make you wibble in it. It stars Nakamura Yuichi (not to be mistaken, guys) who I'm growing to like more and more. First Futatsu no Spica, then he's Ueno Juri's little brother in Sunao (which you really don't see much of but he's good at playing high XD), and then this. Honestly, A+. He was brilliant in portraying this character in which most of his struggle was internally and letting it ll out in a way that wasn't obnoxious? Awesome. Well worth the watch guys. I adored it.
- Cafe Isobe: And then this. This totally appeals to my weak point--familial relationships. Especially father/daughter relationships. T.T This one had the added benefit of starring Naka Riisa and Miyasako Hiroyuki. As well as Aso Kumiko as a waitress in this cafe that the father, Miyasako, randomly decides to open when he inherits a shit load of money from his father. It moved right along, honestly. A lot faster than I ever expected, but oh so enjoyable. <3 I was kind of sad that the guy I was totally shipping with Naka Riisa ended up being a complete DOUCHE. But I guess you win some, you lose some. XD Um, all in all, I was like a;slkdjfslkdfj towards the father/daughter connection. He was a little eccentric but he so obviously cared and tht's pretty much the most important part really. It was overall lovely just seeing how they all interacted.
- As for Tsuki no Koibito, I only have one comment. I hate that I decided to catch up on it just in time for the 8th (and last) episode to be uploaded. AND NO TIME FOR ME TO WATCH IT. T.T.T.T.T.T Unfortunate timing. (Okay, more than one comment. Love Shinohara in this. *_________* She is gorgeous and brilliant and I seriously feel for her in every one of her scenes. Kimura's just gorgeous and I swear to God he has chemistry with everyone he talks to. and well, even is Matsuda is the "villain" in this, I still think he's an awesome character and I really like seeing where they're taking him. Just how far is he going? Idk. I kind of still want to root for him. XD)
Lastly, on Sunday, I headed with C and SA to this park in lower Manhattan (Chambers St.) to wait for the Macy's fireworks to start at 9! Was very fun~ ♥
( Pictures! Of the park and some shots of the fireworks themselves! <3 )
Well, I guess that's that? o.o Catch you all when I get back probably! ♥ Till the 22nd~
P.S. Currently playing Fire Emblem Dawn on the Wii. LOVING IT. Too bad I won't finish before I leave. XD
